[WEEK 2: Saturday evening post-trial, lounge and elsewhere; Andersen]
[as promised, after the trial Kaito can be found at the lounge! if it's still a mess he's totally ignoring the blood, thanks. he's got his typical chocolate milk in hand and is already blowing bubbles into it via the straw]
[when Andersen arrives, he gives a wave]
Yo.
How're you feeling?

. . .
Her death hit you pretty hard, huh. . .? You were roommates, so s'only natural you two were working together.
[he says that quietly, and his words are laced with empathy. he lost one of his roommates during their first week here. he knows how that feels]
no subject
I don't feel sorry for you. I just. . . empathize.
[a beat]
Losing the people you care about, no matter if their a friend or family or a roommate or even just a comrade in a stupid game about murder, sucks.
[he puts it so blandly, but. loss is something he's dealt with his entire life]

[putting it like that strikes a chord somewhere deep in Kaito's heart, and his hand tightens around his glass, knuckles white. it is a sense of a responsibility. it. . . always has been. back home, and now here. for Hana. for Jason. for everyone else who has been killed]
It may not be your style, but. . . heh.
Sometimes it's kind of nice to try new things every so often, right?
no subject
Go big, or go home, huh.
[tilts his head to the side a bit]
I don't intend to disappoint. I hope you don't, either.
no subject
Then take this chance to punch life in the face and make something better of it, yeah?
[that's]
[so shounen]

[in a manner of speaking!]
So if you need my help, I'll be glad to give it.

Doesn't necessarily have to be tracking. It could be trapping, too.
[actually, didn't he catch Kurusu doing something like that to his room earlier this week?]
no subject
[tapping his cheek thoughtfully with one finger]
Setting that up for everyone without them noticing would be pretty difficult, though.
no subject
But if we only go for those who're outwardly suspicious, we might miss the real culprit.
Maybe you were more on point with tracking? I dunno. . . is there a way to set up some kinda surveillance in this motel?
[he highly doubts the motel staff will give them video cameras if they ask, BUT. . .]
no subject
The tape recorder. . .
[he frowns, brows furrowed]
But that'd require us to know who the private investigator is.
no subject
Heh! I'm glad you're so well connected, Tiny Tot.
[hmmm. . .]
The private investigator could hide the device in a room on Thursday night, leaving it on to record whatever sounds it can pick up. It'd have to be some place someone would need to pass by on their way to kill another person, no matter where they're coming from. A central room. The lobby, maybe?

[so amused]
. . . but speaking of materials, I think-- Rachel? And I were gonna see if we could request the right chemicals to make luminol. That'd help us with future investigations for sure.
no subject
It can even pick up on blood that's been wiped away, so long as nobody used bleach to clean the mess up.
